Abstract
Introduction: In contemporary society, thematic documentary preservation is approached not only from its relation with the document "paper", "printed" or "tangible" but also, from its approach to the digital world through its link with the Electronic.
Purpose: to perform a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production of the preservation of digital archival documents in journals: Acervo, Bibliotecology Research and Tabula in the period 2010-2015
Methodology: descriptive metric study based on a mixed methodology. A total of 605 records were retrieved, belonging to the main journals specialized in archival subjects: Acervo, Bibliotecology Research and Tabula, and framed within the established period. The sample was finally reduced to 23 records from the technique of Content Analysis. An ad hoc database was prepared with the selected sample which was subjected to the complete normalization and deep analysis.
Results: From the selected publications between the year 2010 and 2015, the metric study carried out showed as the main result that the preservation of digital archival documents is an incipient and developing theme within the area of Archivistics.
Conclusions: The phenomenon of the preservation of digital archival documents imposes, for current trends in the archival field, the need to obtain and exploit skills and tools that allow a continuous process of management of electronic documents.
