This research refers to the role played by librarianship and information science in the local development of Guantanamo, through the analysis of information management and knowledge developed by the information professionals of the Information and Technology Management Center of Guantanamo (CIGET), in order to solve the information needs of the users and clients of said territory. For the development of these aspects we used different materials and empirical and theoretical methods that allowed the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the role played in the last 5 years by the librarianship developed by this center through the products and services obtained from it, through which it allows managers to make decisions, the center to increase their income and its impact on local development. This research intends to describe some products and services developed by CIGET professionals in the face of local development, through the development of information and knowledge management, so that the products that this center has developed with some examples of its use by users and customers.
