Virtual workshop of investigation and publication for students of medical sciences

Abstract
Introduction: Scientific research was considered as an essential pillar for higher medical education in Cuba. The 1st Workshop on Research and Scientific Publication in Medical Sciences Student not only concerned the mere fact of research, but also of publishing the results of young research as an end of the investigative process.
Objective: Design a virtual course on topics of publication and scientific research that facilitates the acquisition of knowledge and enhancing the active role of the student.
Material and Method: A digital finished product of technological innovation was carried out at the Havana Medical Sciences University from November 2016 to February 2017. Fifty students and 18 experts were used as verification universe.
Results and Discussion: With the use of ICT as a resource, efficiency gains both in time and speed of assimilation of the knowledge system, representing more than a simple collection of information, an active element within the educational process of education; The product check that is presented as a result of the research was positively evaluated by students and medical science experts.
Conclusions: The virtual learning environment is based on the possibility of consulting documents, images, and searching content that facilitates the acquisition of knowledge along with the saving of material resources.
